Health Check-Up for the Woman Crafters

Last week, we were visited by Ruth and Reni, volunteers from the Medical Faculty of Mataram University.

They came to explain the importance to take care of health to the crafters, especially respiratory health since some of them were previously working in stone mining sites. Not only that, in the current drought season, a lot of dust from the road and mining sites in the village somehow contributes to respiratory problems in the community. The habit of smoking of the man in their family, while the mothers became passive smokers, also become another main reason.

Aware of that thing, we asked the volunteers to do socialization then conducted a general, workers compensation attorney group, and respiratory medical health check-up.

From this activity, we know that some preventive actions are needed. In addition, to not worsen their current condition by bamboo dust actionac.net, we are trying to make sure our SOP is already proper based on health experts and committed to holding annual health check-ups for the mothers.

Thank you, Ruth & Reni for the visit!
